Can u imagine buying Benji t-shirts in Perth for $3.00 (not second hand!)?? We just did, in Bangalore. Decent cotton ones. Suited for the Perth weather. Went to a little mall near Brigade Road called Safina Plaza. There's some sort of handicrafts exhibition going on.......Joyz kinda went crazy and we've got some really groovy stuff, for the house and gifts for folks in Perth. Nice exchange rate, but Westpac slugs you these ridiculous foreign credit card usage fees - AAAAAAARGHHHH!!!!

The pounds appear to be staying off.....more or less. I've figured that if I keep the carbs, dairy and snacky stuff to a minimum and do a bit of walking every day, tis quite easy to keep things in control.

Nice to see my toes again.

Wintering in Bangalore is interesting......a far cry from the hot, humid and sweat-soaked week in Kerala.
There's a bit of a nip in the air, especially at night. I prefer the heat....at least, that way, I could sweat off the extra baggage! This way, I'm reduced to taking the stairs instead of the lift to the sixth floor in order to work off the fab food.
Sigh.

And the day has arrived.........the day we decided to move house. Not too far... hardly 4 kms away, but it's a larger place, with a games room, larger bedrooms (enough space for a cot for the little 'un on the way!) with plenty of storage space and a whopper of a laundry room with a massive linen storage cupboard.

It seems just like yesterday that our container and things arrived from Pretoria....we gotta up and move again! Oh, well, at least it's just 10 mins drive away!!

Benjy decided he wasn't going anywhere...until he realised he could take his bunk bed and teddy bears and the sofa with him.....now he's all set to go!!!! Hahahaha! You have to chuckle at the innocence of children!

Anyway, moving day is almost upon us.......right at the end of the month.

Sigh

Me stuck at home today....er...lets just say that I need to be close to a bathroom today. So, I decide to work on my laptop here at home and - sure enough, I can't get in cos the laptop refuses to recognise my password.

How stupid is that??!??????

^*^%@$#% technology!!!!

Aaargh.......Simon & Garfunkel performing in Perth a couple weeks ago and I couldn't get any tickets!!!! Not to mention that the tickets were priced into the stratosphere.
Sigh....guess I'll stick to the CD and listen to the old classics. Just call me Al.

When people ask the [almost] rhetorical question "Why me?", they don't really mean to ask why this has happened. Often, it's not even a question of 'why did this happen to me?'.

Sadly, unconsciously, many people are really asking - 'Why me, not that other guy?'. Why not the woman at the checkout counter? I could have handled that' but, why ME?

Selfish to the bitter end

Unbelievable! The last time I posted, we were on the verge of going to DST. Well, we've been back to standard time for over a month now and -it's official, we've spent one year in Perth now!!! Awesome. Actually, it's a little overwhelming. Didn't realise a year could go by so fast! 2 birthdays in Aus now. And I;ve just hit 35. Hey, mid-life crisis, where are you?? I could do with a Harley, ya know?!

Nah, I'm still growing up. For my birthday, my sweet wife saved up for six months, bought me a cool Tom Tom GPS and a wad of cash! So, after much hemming and hawing and threats of physical violence if I spent any of it on them, I decided to get myself that Ashton bass guitar I've wanted to for some time - to start learning on. Picked up a nice 20W bass amp too, so it was a good eal. Man, am I loving bass!! I was born to do this!

Next thing I wanna learn - how to fly a plane. Hmm.....I'll start saving up for those lessons.
